01 / The work
Bathrooms punish shortcuts. Tile that is out by a couple of millimetres shows up in every joint, and waterproofing that was rushed shows up two years later as a stain on the ceiling below.
We build the parts you cannot see with the same care as the parts you can: proper membrane, correct slope to the drain, blocking behind the walls for grab bars and floating vanities before the board goes on.
We have done everything from a compact basement three-piece to a soaking tub set on hand-finished stumps under a slate feature wall. Both got the same attention underneath.

Turning a cramped tub alcove into a proper walk-in shower, including the framing and drain relocation.

Fans vented outside, not into the attic, plus heated floor systems where you want them.

Live-edge vanity tops, timber shelving, and stone surrounds when the room calls for something one of a kind.
03 / Project
A copper soaking tub on hand-finished stumps
This one was not out of a catalogue. The homeowners had a copper soaking tub and wanted it to feel like it belonged in the room rather than parked in it.
We finished the stumps it rests on, tiled the floor in large-format stone, and built the slate fireplace surround in the adjoining room with live-edge timber legs to tie the two spaces together.

What actually moves the number
We do not publish a price per square foot, because the honest answer depends on what is behind your walls. Here is what genuinely changes the quote, so you can see where your project is likely to land before we ever visit.
- Size and fixture count
- A powder room and a five-piece ensuite are different projects entirely, mostly because of plumbing.
- Whether plumbing moves
- Keeping the toilet, sink, and drain where they are saves significant labour, especially on a concrete slab.
- Tile choice and layout
- Large-format, mosaic, and herringbone patterns all take different amounts of time to set well.
- Shower type
- A tub-shower replacement is straightforward. A custom curbless walk-in with a linear drain involves framing and floor work.
- Hidden damage
- Old bathrooms often have rot under the tub or around the toilet flange. It has to be repaired before the new work goes in.

Straight answers, before you ask
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
Three to six weeks for most full bathrooms. Tile and waterproofing have cure times that cannot be rushed, and we would rather wait than have you call us back.
Can you convert my tub into a walk-in shower?
Yes, this is one of the most common requests we get. It involves reframing the alcove, relocating or adapting the drain, and waterproofing the new base.
Do you install heated floors?
Yes. Electric in-floor heat under tile is straightforward to add during a renovation and it is much cheaper to do then than later.
Will my bathroom be out of service the whole time?
That bathroom will be, yes. If it is your only bathroom, tell us at the quote stage and we will sequence the work to shorten the gap as much as possible.
Do I need a permit for a bathroom renovation?
Replacing fixtures in place usually does not require one. Moving plumbing, adding a new bathroom, or altering framing typically does.
