What kitchen renovations usually means in Mississauga
Mississauga is mostly post-war and later: sixties and seventies backsplits and sidesplits through Cooksville and Applewood, eighties and nineties two storeys across Erin Mills and Meadowvale, and older lakeside homes around Port Credit and Lorne Park. The splits in particular have low basement ceilings and ducts in awkward places, which is a framing problem before it is a design problem.
Lots south of the QEW near the lake often have older services and clay soil that moves, so we look hard at drainage before finishing anything below grade.

A century home kitchen in Guelph
We took this kitchen back to the studs. Behind the lath we found newspaper from the 1920s still stuffed in the walls, along with the wiring and plumbing you would expect in a house that age.
What went back in was a full rebuild: new subfloor, insulation, wiring, a vaulted ceiling with a skylight, sage shaker cabinets with brass pulls, quartz counters, and a live-edge sill under the window over the sink.

Do you need a permit for kitchen renovations in Mississauga?
Permits are issued by the City of Mississauga, and whether you need one depends on the scope. Structural changes, new plumbing, and new circuits almost always require one. We confirm the requirement for your address and handle the application and inspections as part of the job.
How far into Mississauga do you travel?
All of it, including Port Credit, Lorne Park, Streetsville, Clarkson. Mississauga is inside our normal working area, so you are not paying for a special trip.
How long is a kitchen renovation?
A typical full kitchen runs six to ten weeks from demolition to finished trim, with cabinetry and countertop lead times driving most of the schedule. We order long-lead items before we start tearing out.
Can I stay in the house during the renovation?
Most people do. We set up dust protection and keep the work zone contained, but plan on a temporary kitchen somewhere else in the house for several weeks.
Do you supply the cabinets or do I?
Either works. We can supply and install, or install cabinetry you have already selected. If you are supplying, we will review the plan before you order so nothing arrives that does not fit.
Do I need a permit for a kitchen renovation?
If you are only replacing cabinets and finishes, usually not. Moving plumbing, adding circuits, or removing a wall generally does require one, and we handle that.
